On mac open finder, hold down ALT and click Go then Library in the top menu bar. Open the folder Application Support and look for Minecraft. Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder. When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed. You will first need to pause the game by pressing the ESC button. This will bring up your menu. From here, click on Options, and then Controls.
What Controls Can You Change?
Remap Every Single Control
You will be able to assign new keys to all of the actions that you see on the menu. Just click on the button that you want to remap, and replace it by pushing a new key that is more convenient for you.
Reset Controls To Default
You will also be able to reset all of your controls to their default keybind by pressing on the Reset buttons next to the keys. You can also revert all of the keys to their default setting via the Reset Keys button.
